Many Genealogy researchers give of themselves unselfishly in aiding others in their research, Rootsweb's Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness is an internet site that gives of this premise by going one step further. The volunteers of this site agree to once per month to videotape cemeteries, etc., or to visit county courthouses in the area that they live, with the only cost to you being reimbursment of costs incurred in granting your request (video tape, copy fees, etc.).
JOHN KOPP is one such unselfish volunteer of this site, with a noteable exception . . . he goes out of his way to find what you are looking for! It doesn't matter how long, or how many days. It doesn't matter how many miles, how many rolls of film, how many dusty old newspapers or court house records. If it needs to be found and if it can be found . . . John will find it! Sometimes it seems a miracle that he gets what he gets!! People helping people is John's creed. His beautiful wife, Ernie, puts up with John's constant "doing" for others and she is on our list of "very special people" too. She has the patience of a saint!
This site is dedicated to JOHN KOPP by all of the recipients of his generousity, tenacity, hard work, and charm. JOHN, this site is for you. It is our small way of saying "thanks" for everything you have done. |
